reconciliation software pricing

Reconciliation software for a US bank or credit union costs anywhere from about $7,000 to well over $150,000 a year. Close and certification tools sit at the low end of their range: Vendr reports a median of $24,481 a year for FloQast and $40,125 for BlackLine. ReconArt averages about $49,500 a year. Enterprise matching platforms such as Trintech, SmartStream and FIS Data Integrity Manager are quote only and usually six figures. BankAutomation publishes its plans from $1,200 a month, or $7,200 a year billed annually.

Disclosure: BankAutomation sells reconciliation software to banks and credit unions, so we are one of the vendors in this article. Every competitor figure below comes from a named benchmark, a vendor's own pricing page or a public listing, and is labeled with its source. Where no number exists, we say so instead of estimating one.

What banks pay for reconciliation software by vendor

This is the full set of numbers we could verify for the platforms that show up on bank and credit union shortlists. Benchmarks from Vendr and SpendHound are built from real contracts, so they describe what buyers paid, not what a vendor asked.

Benchmarks and list prices as published by each source, checked October 2026. Trintech and OneStream ranges come from third parties, not from the vendors.

Two cautions when you read the table. First, the close tools at the top are priced for month end certification, so their medians say little about daily ACH, card and Fed matching, which is where most bank reconciliation hours go. Second, the benchmark medians include many non-bank buyers; a bank holding company with several charters lands above them. The vendor by vendor breakdowns are in BlackLine pricing, FloQast pricing, ReconArt pricing, Trintech pricing, OneStream pricing and Modern Treasury pricing.

The five pricing models and which one fits a bank

Two vendors with similar list prices can produce very different bills a year later, because they charge for different things. Find out which model a quote uses before you compare totals.

ModelWho uses itWhat makes it growFits a bank when
Per user ReconArt, Oracle Account Reconciliation Every preparer, reviewer and auditor seat The team is small and stable

Models as described by each vendor or by Vendr, checked October 2026.

Banks get caught most often by volume pricing. A bank matches ACH, card, ATM, Fed and correspondent activity every day, so the matched item count is large and grows with every new product. A per user license looks expensive for a big team and cheap for a small one. A flat tier is easiest to forecast, as long as you know which tier your monthly item count falls into.

What drives a reconciliation software quote up at a bank or credit union

  • Matched volume. ACH, card settlement, ATM and instant payments produce hundreds of thousands of items a month at a mid-size institution, and matching modules price on that count.
  • Entities and charters. A holding company with a bank, a trust company and a mortgage subsidiary is three entities, and entity count is a named price driver at BlackLine and OneStream.
  • Seats. Per user pricing counts reviewers and approvers as well as preparers. Maker-checker controls double the people who need access.
  • Source connections. Each core report, network file, Fed statement and correspondent feed is a source to map. Some vendors price connectors separately.
  • Deployment. Private cloud, VPC or on premise options cost more than shared SaaS at every vendor that offers them.
  • Term and renewal uplift. Multi-year terms lower the annual price and raise the commitment. Ask for the renewal cap in writing.

What implementation costs

Implementation is the line most buyers underestimate. ERP Research puts BlackLine services at $5,000 to $50,000 or more, and Vendr notes that on complex deployments implementation can match or exceed the first year subscription. ReconArt sells a fixed 60 or 80 hour package. Enterprise platforms usually need a systems integrator, and the cost scales with the number of reconciliations you build in the first phase.

Ask every vendor the same three questions: who builds the first matching rules, how many hours are included, and what an added reconciliation costs after go live. BankAutomation lists no implementation fee on its pricing page. Your team saves the files, rules are proposed against them and a second person approves each rule before it runs, so no services contract sits beside the subscription.

A realistic budget by institution size

These ranges combine the benchmarks above with what each tier of institution typically reconciles. Use them to sanity check a quote, not as a vendor price.

InstitutionTypical daily workloadClose tool benchmarksDaily matching
Credit union under $1 billion ACH, share drafts, ATM and debit network, corporate CU account FloQast or BlackLine near the Vendr medians, $24,000 to $40,000 a year BankAutomation Operations, $7,200 a year on annual billing
Community bank $1 to $10 billion ACH origination, cards, Fed account, one or two correspondents BlackLine or ReconArt, $40,000 to $50,000 a year Operations or Platform, $7,200 to $23,400 a year
Regional bank or multi-charter holding company Commercial ACH, Fedwire, cards, several correspondents, suspense Above the medians; BlackLine new deals averaged $162,000 in Q1 2026 Platform or Institution, $23,400 to $57,000 a year

Close tool figures from Vendr, SpendHound and BlackLine as above. BankAutomation figures are our published annual prices.

Many institutions run two tools: a close platform for month end certification and a matching platform for the daily settlement accounts. That split usually costs less than buying the volume driven matching module from the close vendor. Credit unions will find their accounts covered on credit union reconciliation software, and banks on an FIS core on FIS reconciliation software.

Three year cost for the same team, compared

Take a community bank with 12 people who prepare, review or approve reconciliations and about 1.5 million matched items a month across ACH, cards and the Fed account.

OptionHow it is pricedYear oneThree years
Per user at the Capterra ReconArt listing 12 users at $300 a month $43,200 plus the implementation package $129,600 plus implementation
Oracle Account Reconciliation list price 12 users at $500 a month $72,000 plus implementation $216,000 plus implementation
BankAutomation Platform, annual billing Flat, 2,000,000 items, 50 users $23,400, no listed setup fee $70,200

Arithmetic on the published list prices above. Negotiated prices, discounts and renewal uplifts are not included.

The point of the exercise is not the exact totals, since every vendor discounts. It is that the model matters more than the headline: adding a thirteenth reviewer costs nothing on a flat tier and $3,600 to $6,000 a year on a per user license.

How to get quotes you can compare

Step 01

Count matched items

Pull one month of ACH, card, ATM, Fed and correspondent activity and count the items. This one number decides most quotes.

Step 02

List entities, users and sources

Every charter, every person who prepares, reviews or approves, and every file you will load.

Step 03

Split close from daily matching

Ask close vendors to quote certification only and matching vendors to quote settlement accounts only, then compare the split with any bundle.

Step 04

Get renewal terms in writing

Renewal cap, price of an added entity, price of extra volume and the cost of an added reconciliation after go live.

Your vendor management team will also want the usual third party file before contract: SOC reports, the security questionnaire and proof of the vendor's cyber and errors and omissions cover, which certificate of insurance tracking keeps current after onboarding.

Questions buyers ask

How much does reconciliation software cost?

For a US bank or credit union, from about $7,000 to more than $150,000 a year. Vendr reports medians of $24,481 for FloQast and $40,125 for BlackLine, ReconArt averages about $49,500, and SpendHound puts the average Trintech customer at $119,000 to $266,000. BankAutomation publishes plans from $1,200 a month, or $7,200 a year on annual billing.

How much does enterprise payment reconciliation software typically cost?

Enterprise matching platforms such as SmartStream, Gresham, Duco and FIS Data Integrity Manager do not publish prices and are usually quoted in six figures a year, priced on volume, processes and deployment. Trintech, the best documented, averages about $266,000 a year for enterprises according to SpendHound. Implementation often adds as much again in year one.

How much does reconciliation software cost for a credit union?

A credit union under $1 billion in assets usually pays $24,000 to $50,000 a year for a close tool such as FloQast, BlackLine or ReconArt, based on Vendr figures. Daily matching for ACH, share drafts and ATM networks costs $7,200 a year on BankAutomation Operations, covering 250,000 matched items a month, three sources and 10 users.

Is reconciliation software priced per user?

Some of it is. ReconArt and Oracle Account Reconciliation price per user, BlackLine, FloQast and OneStream price mainly on modules and entities, and transaction matching modules price on volume. BankAutomation prices per institution in flat tiers by matched items, so adding a reviewer or approver costs nothing.

Why do most reconciliation vendors not publish prices?

Because their price depends on modules, entities, volume and services, and a quote lets them bundle those. That makes comparison slow for the buyer. The benchmarks from Vendr and SpendHound are the best public check on a quote, and the reconciliation software comparison for banks lists 16 platforms side by side.
